Search Underway for Missing Carnival Cruise Passenger

A guest has been reported missing and possibly overboard from the Carnival Cruise Line vessel Carnival Valor, and search operations have commenced. The cruise ship is retracing its route, and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) is conducting a search.

At the moment, the incident is being classified as a “search and rescue” operation, and activity is focused on locating the missing guest.

Guest Reported Missing From Carnival Valor

The male guest, whose name has not been released to safeguard the family’s privacy, was reported missing at approximately noon on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2022.

The last time the individual was seen was at a bar aboard the Conquest-class Carnival Valor with his sister. According to her, he left the bar to find a restroom at approximately 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, and was not seen again. The sister reported her brother as missing the next day.

Two Itinerary Changes for Carnival Cruise Ship, 18 Months Apart

Carnival Cruise Line has contacted guests booked for two different sailings aboard Carnival Horizon that their itineraries are changing. One of the cruises sets sail next month, but the other isn’t even next year – it’s 18 months away.

In an email sent on Friday, November 18, 2022, Carnival Cruise Line has notified guests on two separate sailings of the Vista-class Carnival Horizon that their itineraries are changing.

Carnival Cruise Line Reintroduces Masks for Some Sailings

In an abundance of caution in response to recent cases reported onboard cruise ships, Carnival Cruise Line has reintroduced mandatory mask wearing policies for the cruise line’s sailings in Australia.

Masks will now be required in all indoor public spaces or in any crowded venue, indoors or outdoors, regardless of vaccination status. It must be noted that at this time, this policy only impacts Carnival cruises in Australia, and masks are not required on any Carnival ships in other regions.

Royal Caribbean International and PortMiami have reached one of the largest ever agreements for the port, with port commissioners approving a lease agreement that will extend for 50 years and net approximately $2.8 billion for the local economy.
